I am Paul, and I live in Rhode Island.
I met with an accident when I was five when a car ran me over. My legs couldn’t be the same again, and I have been in the wheelchair for a really long time now.
The thing with being disabled is that it changes you. It changes you as a person. It changes how you feel about things. And it changes how you look at the world.
And from what I have seen, the world just doesn’t seem to care. Perhaps it is because they don’t know what being disabled feels like. Perhaps it is because the very thought of being disabled repels and scares them, and they don’t know how to behave in front of someone who cannot walk?
It’s why I created my own personal blog, the Accessible Rhode Island blog, where I will tell you about my experiences. I will talk about how being disabled feels like, as well as some tips to help you if you are disabled.
I hope you do enjoy reading it!
